Steps for the treatment of cellulite

Eat judiciously with low calorie content. Good food should make up for the normal wear and tear. Ban everything which is highly seasoned - condiments, spices, salt, pepper or toxic substances such as coffee, tea, alcohol, tobacco, highly fermented cheese or too acidic - tomatoes, lemons, and over-cooked foods such as stews, fatty pork meats, sauces, cooked butter, fried foods.

Since cellulite is fat, excess weight can contribute to it. According to Dr. D.S.Jaspal, President of Indian Medical Association (Haryana), eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables - low in calories yet packed with nutrients. And drink fruit and vegetable juices. He advises to eat a healthy, balanced diet and get back in balance by resting well.

We must shun stuffy atmospheres and crowded streets as much as possible because of our need for this vital force. Start breathing in gently, first inflating the upper part of the thorax, and moving arms to the horizontal position and then slightly backwards, The complete breathing in process should take 6 to 12 seconds. Breathing out should be done slowly. Begin by collapsing the upper part of the chest, then the lower part, and end by contracting the stomach. To empty the chest completely, lower the arms, the shoulders and the head bent slightly forward and back slightly arched.

Gentle and gradually increasing massage, which arouses sensation rather than pain, always dispels cellulite from the place to which it is applied. Various massage movements applied on the body will be described in detail in one of the coming chapters. Remember, massage should never cause pain, but should be hard enough all the same to arouse more sensitivity than it would have done on a perfectly healthy area.

Use exfoliating loofahs to boost circulation and lymphatic system. Exfoliation can be done with a body brush or a hand mitt in long sweeping movements on the affected area, working in the direction of the heart for 3-5 minutes. Loofah dissolves cellulite.

The detox diet works well to flush out toxins and gives a healthy surge of vital energy to the body. A 5-day detox program is described below. During the course of this program you can drink unlimited quantities of warm water. But avoid drinking cold water, tea, coffee, alcohol and sugar. A daily 30-minute brisk walk is a must to keep muscles fit and fine.

Aromatherapy massage works wonders. To prepare massage cream: Mix 2 drops fennel seed oil, 2 drops rosemary oil, 4 drops lemon oil with 2 teaspoons vitamin E cream (400 IU). Massage and leave on cellulite areas at night. Repeat daily for two weeks. Tips to fight obesity and overweight complaints are quite common. There are several causes for obesity; majority of them are due to overeating and lack of exercise. The logical way to lose weight is to cut down excess/junk food intake by 100% without affecting the nutritive value of the food consumed, and exercise regularly to burn the extra fat.
